The site is under a very heavy load during a few days in June, when the results of the French "baccalaureat" exam are published.
The University of Montpellier was a French university in Montpellier in the Languedoc-Roussillon région of the south of France. Its present-day successor universities are the University of Montpellier 1, Montpellier 2 University and Paul Valéry University, Montpellier III. They use Varnish, mainly to make sure their students have an uninterrupted access to their exams results.
The three boards of directors of the three Universities of Montpellier have now adopted the principle of merging into a single university. A provisional establishment will be established in early 2009. The preparation work will continue until 2010. The creation of the University of Montpellier Sud de France will start in 2011.
